TAZA Signature: Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei
About Bemberg™
Bemberg™ is a regenerated fiber, made from cotton linter in Japan since 1931. Cotton linter is the soft, fine fibers that cling to cotton seeds and are often treated as a by-product. Through a refining and spinning process, this material is transformed into a smooth, breathable textile, resulting in a lightweight fabric known for its softness and comfort.
Why Nubuck?
First things first, if you search on Google for 'Nubuck Fabric,' what you'll mostly find is information about Nubuck Leather.
But that's exactly why we name this fabric 'Nubuck' – to evoke its unique hand feel. The name is inspired by Nubuck Leather itself, which is a luxurious material resembling natural suede with a velvet-like surface. Nubuck leather, traditionally used for shoes and bags, is known for its high quality, strength, and durability.
This fabric is actually made from plant-based fibers that offer a unique combination of sophistication, texture, and comfort that is rarely found in other abayas.
