Real Skin, But Better: Everyday Makeup for Natural Beauty with TAZA x Instaperfect & Crystallure

As part of the A Tale of Tomorrow exhibition series, TAZA also presented a beauty workshop in collaboration with Instaperfect and Crystallure, inviting participants to approach makeup in a lighter and more skin-respecting way. Carrying the theme Real Skin, But Better, the session emphasized that makeup does not need to cover or change one’s face, but instead can help care for the skin and highlight its natural character.
The workshop took place in a warm and interactive atmosphere. Participants were invited to wear pink makeup aprons and experience the products firsthand through guided application. All products used during the session were halal-certified and safe, allowing participants to enjoy the process with confidence for everyday use.
Everyday Makeup Guidance by Instaperfect & Crystallure

This makeup class offered practical guidance for creating a natural, comfortable everyday look that works in harmony with the skin. Through simple and approachable steps, participants learned techniques that are easy to apply in daily routines.
Skin Preparation
The session began with an emphasis on proper skin cleansing as the essential foundation of any makeup look. Participants were introduced to the Crystallure Hydra Booster, applied before makeup to help optimize skincare absorption, maintain hydration, smooth skin texture, and allow makeup to adhere better without cracking or feeling heavy. Application techniques were demonstrated in detail, including directional movements designed to help minimize the appearance of pores.
Building the Right Complexion
Participants were then guided through Instaperfect’s range of cushion products, tailored for different daily needs, from lightweight satin finishes to higher-coverage options. This session highlighted the importance of understanding skin undertones to achieve a seamless and natural result. Practical tips such as swatching along the jawline, tapping rather than dragging the product, and setting makeup comfortably for glasses wearers were shared through hands-on practice.
Eyes and Brows: Simple and Multifunctional
The workshop continued with eye and brow makeup using a practical and minimal approach. Participants learned how a single blush product could also be used as eyeshadow to create a cohesive and balanced look. Brow shaping techniques were explained with a focus on enhancing natural features without making the brows appear too bold or rigid.
The Finishing Touch
Mascara application was introduced as a practical solution for everyday wear. The tubing mascara demonstrated during the session is easy to remove, safe for daily use, and especially suitable for TAZA Sisters who perform wudhu. Removal is simple, using only water and gentle pressure, without leaving dark residue around the eyes.

As a final takeaway, participants were reminded that good makeup does not always require multiple layers of product. Thoughtful color selection, gentle application techniques, and allowing the skin to breathe are key to achieving a fresh and confident look. The workshop concluded with a small gift-sharing session and casual conversations, reinforcing the idea that beauty can be enjoyed without the pressure of perfection.
Through this workshop, Instaperfect and Crystallure offered a beauty experience that aligns with the spirit of A Tale of Tomorrow. A reminder that self-care can begin with simple steps, thoughtful choices, and a light yet responsible approach toward oneself.
